Due to queries received by the Service Desk regarding a paint option for duo-tone paint finish and the ongoing development of paint finishes and colour combinations, a solution is below which can be used if there is no second colour option available within model options:

AZT recommend the following:

The uplift for a 1-coat (solid colour) painting process.

Additional labour operations Additional work units
Preperation time for second colour 1 WU
Mix second colour 2 WU
Test spray out card for second colour 2 WU
TOTAL UPLIFT 5 WU

The uplift for a 2 coat, 3 and 4 coat painting job, this uplift is increased as per below.

Additional labour operations Additional work units
Preperation time for second colour 1 WU
Mix second colour 3 WU
Test spray out card for second colour 3 WU
TOTAL UPLIFT 7 WU

This uplift or parts of, may need to be applied for each additional colour that is added, and it is advised that this be entered as a separate Zone 99 entry for each. For example, if the job requires the formulation of two additional colours, you would add 2 entries into Zone 99 – “Second colour uplift” and “Third colour uplift” (WU based on the above).

This additional time is only required when a second (or third) colour has to be formulated and it is not already included in the model options (some vehicles have a second colour option - Y9) this automatically gives the correct additional paint preparation time for the first additional colour.

This additional allowance is per repair and should be added to Zone 99.
