A default uplift of 1.5% (the figure determined in conjunction with key stakeholders from the Audatex user base) is provided within AudaEnterprise and AudaWorkstation to cater for two stage pearlescent paint. The uplift facility is automatically enabled once pearlescent paint is selected.
The overall uplift of 1.5% is applied to the total paint and materials allowed, which are made up of both dry and wet items (primer, colour layer, lacquer). This has been calculated by allocating 30% of a job to the colour layer and applying this to the 4.78% extra cost of a pearlescent paint mix over an equivalent metallic mix (as defined by an analysis of more than 80,000 paint mixes from 65 bodyshops and the difference in paint charges on both a per litre and a per job mix basis).
This uplift does not apply to three-stage pearlescent which, due to the individuality of each job, requires agreement on costs on a 'case-by-case' basis. Once agreed, the appropriate uplift should be input via the % uplift box in the rates screen. Note that there are two lines of data per panel to be painted. The first line reflects the two-coat element. The second line reads "surface paint" and gives time for application of the third coat.
