Currently the AZT paint calculation only provides default results for 3 and 4 coat painting:

  • The default for 3 coat painting assumes a Dry Polish application process
  • The default for 4 coat painting assumes a Wet on Wet application process

Individual model options for WW (Wet on Wet); PP: Partial WW (Wet on Wet)/Partial DP (Dry/Polish) or DP: Dry/Polish will be included in a future data release to generate the appropriate paint labour and materials.

If any other application process is required other than the defaults, then the following adjustments should be applied.

Three Coat Painting – ROI

If Three Coat Painting has been selected, the paint labour and materials generated will assume a DP: Dry Polish application process.

If the application process is WW (Wet on Wet), then the paint labour and materials will need to be reduced by 15% for the applicable panels.

WW (Wet on Wet)

  • Paint labour: reduced by 15% on paint labour excluding the paint preparation time and any Zone 99 entries as highlighted below
  • Paint materials: reduced by 15% on total paint cost excluding sundries as highlighted below

In this example:

Paint Labour is 20 Work Units.  20-15% = 17 Work units

Total Paint Cost is €201.30 – 15% = €171.11

Four Coat Painting – ROI

If Four Coat Painting has been selected, the paint labour and materials generated will assume a WW: Wet on Wet application process.

If the application process is either PP: Partial WW (Wet on Wet)/Partial DP (Dry/Polish) or DP: Dry/Polish, then additional paint labour and materials will need to be calculated manually for the applicable panels and entered in Zone 99.

Partial WW / Partial DP

  • Paint labour: additional 15% on paint labour excluding the paint preparation time and any Zone 99 entries as highlighted below
  • Paint materials: additional 15% on total paint cost excluding sundries as highlighted below

In this example:

Paint Labour is 20 Work Units.  20+15% = 23 Work units

Total Paint Cost is €201.30 15% = €231.50

DP (Dry / Polish)

  • Paint labour: additional 30% of paint labour excluding the paint preparation time and any Zone 99 entries as highlighted below
  • Paint materials: additional 30% of total paint cost excluding sundries as highlighted below

In this example:

Paint Labour is 20 Work Units.  20+30% = 26 Work units

Total Paint Cost is €201.30 30% = €261.69
